I washed it down with laquer, primed it, and painted it black with a clear coat. Looks great, didn't affect my radio's reception. I'd recommend it to anyone, color it to match your truck it looks sharp. I saw a blue dakota with a blue stock antenna and got the idea from that. It looks better than those short bent plastic ones you buy from audio shops... It just looks more classy.

it's a joke, but that is an idea that i havent' thought of. and it's cheaper then shaving off the antenna todally.

Shaving my antennae was one hour of work (60 bucks) when I was getting some other body work done. Best time to do any sort of body changes is when you're getting like a dent or insurance claim fixed. The paint is already there for you and you basicly pay for just the work.
