Subject: Bed rail / Light bar combo IP: Logged
Message: A couple of days ago I saw a Dak on the road that had a combo bed rail/light bar that I hadn't seen before and was wondering if anyone knows who may manufacture it. It was NOT the Mopar bed rail/light bar, but similar looking. The difference was that this one looked to be a single chromed tube that started as a bed rail, then was bent to up into a light bar (roll bar style), and then back again to form the opposite side bed rail. Single tube with no visible seams. Looked real slick, but I've looked everywhere I can think of, through dozens of manufacturers and can't find it. I suppose it could be a custom job, but was hoping that it wasn't. Anybody have any ideas about what I'm talking about, let me know! Thanks.

Message: I was only aware of the Mopar bar combo. So when you find out if it wasn't custom.. could you let me know who it was also. I've been waiting for an aftermarket one myself

Message: Guys, If you live anywhere near the water, try going to a boat canvas shop. They can bend you a custom made bedrail/light bar combo out of 1" polished stainless steel tubing.Follow the angle of the B pillar and the curveature of the roof.Use the stainless steel handrail stancions for mounting to bed rails. This stuff comes in 20' lengths so seams shoundn't be a problem. You can use Bimini top angle fittings for forming a stiffining bar that can run diagnially from top of light bar(but not center) to front 1/3 of bed rail. I did this on my 4X4 Isuzu and it looker great.Just put the fittings on the railing before bending. You can also check out people that build Tuna Towers (larger diameter tubing) or places that build stairway handrails.
Anybody can order stuff out of a catalog, custom made, one-of-a-kind stuff is truly unique and will get you noticed! And isn't this what it's all about?
