Message: I think it blends in with body better this way.
It doesnt look like a 4x4 bolted to the back.

Message: I replaced all the light bulbs with blue LED's.
It didnt work very well because there is a dark spot on the lower left corner.
this is due to the LED viewing angle of only 35 degrees,a regular light bulb shines 360 degrees,I couldnt find blue LED's with a wider viewing angle so it doesnt fully illuminate the gauges.

Message: Why not just use standard blue bulbs instead of LEDs? That's what I am doing except in red.

Message: i did my dash lights in red and it orked out great and i used just red bulbs the key to getting them to work is take off the plastic face and on the back its like green or white this is a coveri use some stripper and a razor blade and took it off. put it up to the light and see if its clear. once its clear put your bulbs in and the color will so up really good.
hope this helps if you want some pic just let me know.

Message: I didn't use regular bulbs because
1)I didn't think they would show through the guage face color without removing the color like curtis did.
2) I didn't want to alter anything that I didn't have to in case I didn't like it.this way I can just put the regular bulbs back in and it's back to normal.
3)LED's life span is 11 years of continuous illumination(properly powered)so they should never need replacement. There like the numbers on your alarm clock or VCR they last forever.
4)I didn't think I could find small enough bulbs for the fog/headlight switch and heater controls, there very tiny.
5)to see if I could make it work
