Subject: Super Dak stripe? Can't drive rightaway?
IP: Logged

Message:
I was told by the guy installing my Super dak stripe that I couldn't drive it for 3-4 hours after it was installed because the wind could make it come off!!??? It's a sticker isn't it?

Is this guy pulling my leg or what? Sounded kinda rediculous to me but then again I've never done this before! How much do you guys think this will cost to have installed??

Any ideas?

First of all that isn't true about the 3-4 hours. I drove mine after about 30 minutes and it was like 55 degrees F. I just left it in the direct sunlight for awhile and used a squeegy to get the extra water and air bubbles out. """Don't use a heat lamp!!!""" I just went to my local sticker shop and got mine cut with silver vinyl sheet, and my dad helped me put it on.

For the price to put it on, I am not for sure. If you know someone that is good putting on stripes/stickers you could try it because, you have to put soapy-water on the back of the stripe so it don't stick immediately. It gives you time to move the stripe where you want it.

that 3/4 hours allows the soapy water to dry out so thhe sticky sticker can stick. I have seen the end result of not waiting, it was REALLY FUNNY cause it happened to someone else, sticker AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLL over the hiway, passing cars, trees, the big brown truck (thats why ups wants to race it)
