Subject: 20in??? spacers? help IP: Logged
Message: i just got some 20 in rims with tires, the ones in front fit and bolt on perfectly, but the ones in the rear dont match up flushly to the drum, the drum has these 2 or 3 lil black metal things on it (almost look like rim balancing clips) so the rim rubs that and doesnt go against it. why would the factory put balancers on the drums? so should i get a wheel spacer or take the metal things off the drum?? thanks

Message: you can remove those clips on the drums/studs any time. the factory uses them to keep the drums from falling of as the thing goes down the assembly line, that is all they are for.

Message: Yeah, there is something to keep them on during motion.....your wheels and lug nuts. Just rip off the clips. If you don't do it, the next guy that does your brakes will.

Message: well.... they're on the disk brakes too! Just a heads up so we won't have to do this again. Also..... amazingly enough, they're pretty much on every vehicle so this is a defent life long learning experience
and with that... we move on!
