Once again I am asking for help!! I am hoping some one can tell me how to remove the door panels and rear plastic piece in the rear cab?? I have a 2000 Club Cab. I bought 4 Infinity Kappa 63.1I speakers and any local shop around here wants at least $80.00 to install them. Do I need any special tools, Besides a star wrench for the front door???

Thanks for the help!!!

I would love to help, but I have a 2001 and Im bot sure that they are the same...I dont want to give you wrong info. I know on my doors, after you remove 2 screws, you pull out the top of the door then lift to release the clips on the bottom.

very simple....as for the rear, youl need a large "star" to remove the seat belts and then its all just plastic pins that pull out....

Another thing, is with the 6 1/2" speakers, youll need some plastic adapters..

But as I said this is for a 2001....dont know if your is the same....good luck

Wow what state do you live in??? I live in MN and they want $15.95 per speaker to install. The problem is I am hooking them up to an amp. They will only run the wire to the deck. They want 80.00 just to drop the wire out side the doors. But for the sake of saving money I thought it best just to do my self. When you said pull the top of the door and than pull up. How do you " pull " the top of the door?

as for pulling the door panel out, just find a place to grab and pull it out...only on the top half though..if you pull out on the bottom, youll break the clips

That sounds great!! Thank you very much! As for the back cab? I understand about taking the seat belt out is there any other tricks to getting the back plastic off. It looks like there is a plastic piece that over laps the bottom piece where the speaker is mounted behind. Do I haft to remove the top piece, in order to remove the bottom? it looks that way to me ?? Sorry for all of the ?'s If you want feel free to e-mail me @ chad_johnson@gelco.com

To remove the door panels:

- Remove the torx head screws and philips screws.

- Lift door panel slightly to disengage the "L" shaped clips.

- Reach behind the door panel and disengage the clip for door handle.

- Disconnect wires for power mirrors/windows/locks if equipped.

- Remove door panel

To remove the rear club cab panels:

On my regular cab, I can remove the B-pillar trim (your club cab panel) without removing the back wall panel. I'm not sure if you can, but if you have to remove the back panel it just pops off (held in place by 3(?) plastic "rivots".

As far as removing the club cab panels, they should be held in place by the same plastic "rivots". You will have to remove the upper seat belt anchor point and to do this flip up the plastic cover. You'll see a 45 or 47 torx head screw. Remove the screw and the seatbelt will come right down.

Yes, the bottom of the club cab panel does go underneath the rocker panel (at least mine does). After the panel is loosened, tip the top towards the front of the cab and slide the bottom of the panel back. if there's too much resistance it might be connected by a palstic tab. If this is the case, use a screwdriver or something flat and just pop up the back half of the rocker panel trim piece.

Here's what you do I have a 99 ext. cab dakota and the door panels are easy 5 screws and they slide up and out but you have to be careful and undo the window and door lock switch. next remove the factory speakers but you will need the plates they use for the factory ones. mount the new speakers to the plates buy screwing the new speakers to the plate wire up the speakers and put everything back together. The rear ones you will need to go to a salvage yard and get the round plastic ring for the back speakers to be mounted trust me as I have already done this. The back ones are easy to you need a tork socket for the seat belt holder the cover snaps up and you have to very carefully remove the trim on the floor and very carefully pull the back trim out because it is held in with 3 of those white push pins then install the speakers the same as the doors and then carefully line up the pins in the holes push the trim back on and reinstall the floor trim and the seatbelt holder and your done.

P.S. if you have any ?'s E-mail me at alauseng@hotmail.com
