Subject: fog light replacements??? IP: Logged
Message: I just bought some new fog lights from Autozone to replace my factory ones. After cutting the factory light plugs off I thought it would be no big deal to just connect the wires directly to the new lights and be done with it. Not so easy. Dodge has makes their switches so the circuit is made on the ground side and not the positive side. This left a hot wire just laying around unless the fuse is pulled. Since the new lights are mounted directly to the frame they are grounded and the lights stay on even when the truck is turned off. So I've moved to plan B. I want to wire them into a circuit that only has power when the engine is turned on so they will be daytime as well as night time running lights. Any suggestions on where to splice in?

Message: No prob...Just put a relay in the circuit that switches the hot side.
