Message: I had a problem similar to that.. My truck is lowered 3/5, and I had screwed up my transmission because the driveshaft kept raming it everytime i'd hit a bump or something like that. I think the reason your driveshaft broke in half is b/c the people that lowered it didnt angle the rear differential right with the drop, which either caused the driveshaft to be closer or further apart from the rear differential and transmssion.. I'm thinking it was too close together which caused it to break. after I got my transmission fixed and my rear differential and all that other b.s. in that goes along with it, i had to shorten my driveshaft.. See the problem is the driveshaft is made to be at stock height. So when you lower a truck it has to be in ration with the stock height. If the front is lowered to much or the rear is lowered too much, the driveshaft underneath will be crambed.. Do you get me?? Well I dont know if this helps, and I dont know if I am right, but thats just my two cents..Let me know what happens

Message: I shortened it 3/4 of an inch. No vibration problems at all, but I think it's effected the speed of my truck at top speeds.. It might not have anything to do with it but my governer used to kick in at 119 now it kicks in at about 113mph or 114mph.. Again maybe not having to do with the driveshaft.. Also You might not have to shorten it as much as i did..
thanks

Mike,
how do you keep it in ration when you lower it. is the only way is to shorten the driveshaft?
Thanks,
Pat

Message: You don't have to shorten the driveshaft.. Just make sure when they drop it, everything underneath is angled right, and make sure the truck sits level. If at anytime the truck is lower in back, or higher in back, the driveshaft will have problems and probly not have much room to move.. I don't know all the technicalities (spelling) but i know the driveshaft has about an inch of travel back and forth for when you go over bumps or if your towing and what not.. So thats why it is imperative that your truck sits level... But i just know from my own personal experience.. Ask around..

Message: my truck has been raked ever since i could remember. its a reg cab 97, and the back is way higher then the front, so it is not level but i dont have any problems like u said a un level truck would have. when i lower it 3/5, it should still be a lil higher in the back i hope to give it that sport truck look. oh yea, the heavy v8 makes the front go down even more.
