The stock springs arch the hood slightly (as seen in the bottom picture) but if you soften your springs or use the hinges sans springs it would probably line up just fine - but looks pretty good as-is. There are a couple of small paint chips from road debris, and a small flat nickel-sized spot at the top of the passenger-side cowl that was a manufacturing defect (99% of the people who examine the hood never even notice it - really minor).
This hood retails for $795 PLUS shipping PLUS prep/paint (typically $250-400). It has the heat extractors option (open/screened cowls - $100 option) which works very well, and the front nostrils are functional (although not as effective as the Shaker or GTS hoods).
Looking to get $550/obo plus exact freight shipping from 89014 for it. Helluva bargain for a pre-painted hood, much less a head turner like this one is. Can't begin to count the number of positive comments and e-mails I've received regarding this hood and the way my truck looks with it.
Before everybody wigs out and floods me with notes asking why I'm selling the hood or asking which one I'm replacing it with - I'm getting another Suncoast hood. It's a long story involving a new matting material and possible vehicle display at SEMA and other factors, but the bottom line is I love this hood design and am putting a new one on so someone can save a bundle by buying my used one.
Contact me at stcr@lvcm.com if interested.

Message: hey great hood, and its nice when someone can be honest on here, also if one would take out those billet grills from the ram air scoops, would this increase the "ram air effect"? thanks

Message: Removing the screens from the front nostrils probably wouldn't help much, just because of the design. The Suncoast hood doesn't use an airbox like the Shaker/GTS hoods - the nostrils dump air into a chamber that's about 30" wide and 12" deep - this chamber opens up into the engine bay in the front-right corner right above where the cone filter sits from aftermarket K&N kits. If you have the factory airbox, you can buy a kit that will re-direct this airstream into the box with the filter. With an aftermarket K&N kit, the hood routes some colder air directly to the filter intake. As stated - not as effective as a Shaker/GTS hood, but then again you don't have some big fiberglass contraption stuck to the top of your engine, either. I bought this hood because I like the way it looks the best.

Message: I've never done the springs modification myself, but I've heard from a couple of sources that if you heat up the springs with a torch then let them cool it will weaken them. Might want to check with a hood company to double check that though.

Message: SinCity,
It will weaken the coil strength of a spring to heat them and then let them cool, but it could also make the metal more brittle. They could explode in your face under duress (which would really friggin' hurt).

Message: Thank god some common sense hit me today! Well I had my hood off prepin it for paint and I just decided to take a look at the coils! And then it hit me right in the face! LOL
There are 3 bolts that hold the whole arm assembly to the truck and YES they are adjustable! There is 1 rear bolt and 2 front bolts! I just loosed the back one and the front top bolt to allow it to pivot and hit it with a hammer and adjusted both of the back ones down about a millimeter. The back bolts are tricky to get to! Just take off that black cowl or lift it up enough to get in there and wallah! Sits perfect now! I'll put before and after pics up as soon as I get my camera back!
Yeah puttin a torch to it was outta the question! I probably woulda put the stock hood back on and sell this one!
Sorry for the long post! Just wanted to put that out there!
