Thinking about buying a 96 SLT 4x4. Like the truck and exterior, but don't like the interior.
Has anyone ever redone their simulated wood grain dash into something nicer?

Just did it on my '95 SLT, same dash as yours. There was a black dash available also. I picked up the black dash bezel and cupholder/bezel for $35 from a junkyard and swapped them into my truck. Very easy to do. Looks much cleaner.

Thanks guys for showing some pictures, it helps.
There is a 96 SLT 4x4 V8 with 64k miles I am looking it. A really unique darkgreen with red stickers. nice looking exterior.
I like the old and new body styles, but man, the difference between the 96 and 97 interior is so dramatic. The 97 is just so modern I guess. Not to say that it is the best thing around, But the 96 just looks so dated.
It looks like there are aftermarket steering wheels, seats and guages for the 96 that would spruce it up some, right

I own a 96 dodge diesel 2wd dually. I took dash out completley. Wasn`t easy. I`m getting it painted white to match the truck. Luckily I found a good body to paint and install for me. It will on display on his website soon. Out of Fresno. WWW.FINISHLINEPROS.COM
