Subject: Do You Want Clear Lenses? IP: Logged
Message: I just was on www.ebaymotors and by bidding scored a brand new set of front clear lenses with all 6 amber bulbs and wiring harness's for $35.00. I see them all over the web for up to 100.00 for the same exact thing. In fact the place I won the bid though sells them outright for 75.00. check it out.

Message: Lemme guess.... "procarparts.com"? I just won a bid for that package, too, although I'm ashamed to admit that I paid $36.00 (plus shipping, of course). Helluva deal, if they fit. I kinda don't like buying products sight unseen, but lately the prices and availablity are beginning to be too good to pass up. In the last week, in MAJOR anticipation of my truck finally arriving, I've mail-ordered:
Clear lens kit (eBay)
Xenon HID bulbs
MTX Thunderform
Infinity 5-channel amp
Boss graphic equalizer
Painted factory grille (to replace the bright grille)
I've convinced myself that I've just saved a bucket 'o money, and what the hell.... it all comes to my house with very little effort expended.

Message: I think clear lenses look like crap. They can stay on those hmong built rice burners. Just my opinion though.

Message: Thay are a pain to install! Somewhere I have detailed instructions that I wrote because the ones that came with them aren't worth the paper they're written on. There is no wiring to worry about. The stock wiring and sockets will be used. Let me see if I can find the instructions and I'll post them under a separate heading.

Message: Mine went on easy....
I had both mine done in about an hour. I got mine via Ebay. They only came with the 2 side marker lamps/sockets and wires...I had to clip off the stock wire and solder these on. This was the hardest part and that wasn't a big deal.
There is only 1 t10 torx screw to remove and the lens assembly will slide right out...

Message: I had to use my drimel to get mine to fit.. had to cut off the "lip" of the socket where the bulb/harness attaches. Other than that, they were easy. I bought mine on the a group buy on the DML. Ask for Dester, I think you can still get the group buy price. They are made by APC.
I think the look sweeeeeeeeet on a black truck with a speed grille (like mine) Gives it that black and silver look on the front. I don't care for the rears too much.

Message: To Weebedna,
The lights and wiring that came with yours, don't those go on the part that came with no light? These clear corners have lenses and light bulbs all along the bottom. Then, there's that small triangular piece that sits beside the headlamp. That comes from the factory with no light in it nor wiring to go with it, however there is a cutout for a light, at least in the factory corner. I haven't pulled my clear corner off to verify it's in there too. I would like to get those extra lights too so I can make cornering lamps out of that triangular part. Is that how you wired it up?
TIA,

Message: RonW....
My clear corners, like the stock units, only have a very small hole that is taped over on the triangular part. The bulb assemblies that came with mine was for the small lower side markers. Adding a bulb to the triagular area is a good idea though
