Subject: Bumper drop in Florida? IP: Logged
Message: I feel stupid for listening to this guy, but he claims if I give my 2001 CC Auto 2wd Dak a 3" body lift, I will then have to drop my bumpers to be legal.
Anyone have any advice on body lifts for the State of Florida?
Thanks.

Message: Don`t listen to that guy. NO , you don`t need to drop your bumpers with any lift as small as 3in. , especially a body lift because unless you use the supplied bumper brackets , they stay in the same location. You will want to raise them to meet the rest of the body (not lower them) , and then they will be the same height as a 4WD Dakota.

california, thank god i live in florida, cuz you
and i both know we dont have emissions tests
anymore, so we can do whatever we want to

Message: i just gotta say AMEN!!! to Spencer. DAMN I LOVE NO EMISSION CHECKS!!! :)
and yeah, dont listen to that guy, body lifts dont lift the bumper any. and even if it did, u wouldn't have any problems with only a 3" drop... i mean lift (damn, not used to saying that!!:) i see ALOT higher trucks than that here in FL!! Peace

Message: Brad , it`s not true in Michigan , or anywhere for that matter. All states have bumper height restrictions , some are more strict than others , but NO state would make you LOWER your bumpers with a mere 3in. of lift.
There may be some dumb law somewhere in BFE that sais you can`t raise the bumpers to meet the body after a b/lift , but I`ll guarantee you no one will make you lower them!
