Alright, i was wondering how the Stillen bumper cover actually fits on. Does it fit over your factory bumper cover or do u have to take it off? I have seen 2 different pictures of Dakotas with Stillen bumper covers.

The Stillen bumper cover can be installed either way. With the OEM cover removed or over the OEM cover. I think it is prefered to install the Stillen over the old one. This provides more stiffness or strength.
The pictures you show, the 1st one probably has the Street Scene grill on it and the Stillen cover was installed over the stock one. The Stillen cover has slots that can be cut out for the OEM 3 vertical bars.
The 2nd picture has the Stillen installed with the OEM lower cover 3 vertical bars cut off.
I have to wait to install mine. I still have to paint it. Good luck.

just installed my stillen cover..99 over the factory bumper and valance..i cut out the lower bars with a saber saw..and the goglight holes lined up perfect...sorry no pics yet

im selling my black wings west front cover.... and hopefully buying the stillen. how much did u guys pay for yours? i heard jon mercedes has them for about 275 shipped. also, did u just use the screws to install them .. or add anything else like urethane caulk for extra strength. thanks

I installed mine on my 99 Dakota last week. I put it over the stock bumper and valance and like mentioned above I cut the slots for the bars. I kind of cheated on mounting it, I just ran the 2 sided tape along the stock bumper and thats all that holds it on. It fits like a glove and isnt going anywhere. I for some reason just cant get myself to ruin my stock stuff by drilling into it.

Got mine direct from Stillen, cost $250 plus shipping which was $30. I too am cutting out the bars on the lower valance. I am going to try and make a diamond type grille out of stainless mesh. I will post a pic when complete.

No, it does not come with the 3 vert. bars, they are on the original valance. The stillen has marks on it showing you where to trim if you want to keep the bars. You don't need them, the valance is plenty strong after the install without them. Trim them with a sawsall or hack saw. Gives a much cleaner look especially if you use a lower grille.
