Message: Has anyone purchased these before? I know I am looking into the air-fuel ratio but, I don't know of another guage I would need. Maybe Trans temp or any other ideas? Help me out.

Message: oil temp is a good one, an upgraded oil pressure is always good, as well as an upgraded water temperature, factory gauges for the most part suck

Message: the factory gauges work just fine! They do the same job as the autolites, just not as fancy lookin.
And for the a different gauges, get front bag and back bag in the pod. or oil temp and air/vac

Message: when you look at your factory gauges, do you know what the exact water temp is, or is it somewhere between cold and hot? with my gauges, i can tell you that my truck always runs at 193 degrees, do you know what your exact oil pressure is, or is it somewhere between low and high? yes, they may work fine, but so do the factory speakers that come with them, but why are they the first things taken out by many people?

Message: Having never done it before, how hard would it be to hook up an air/fuel ratio gauge, oil temp ect? Do you have to buy more than just the gauge and wire?

Message: no, the gauges come with almost everything you need, other than wire, from what i see, its pretty easy to hook up air\fuel ratio, gauges usually come with good instructions

Message: And I meant autometers..... sorry for the typo. Also if you never drive your truck enough... you'll never get the feel of your gauges. Most people can tell you where about the gauges usually sit when running. Its not rocket science. mine gauges sit there...... not there. I'm sure there are people that have a need to know that there temp sits at 189 and 193 is just wrong. No problem with that. Is it something to get bent out of shape for and to flame everyone that thinks that its an overkill? Some people might have behavor problems and require gauges to write down weekly what there oil pressure was to monitor any problems down the road. Great Idea!!!! Just that the stock gauges work just fine.... thats all
Also, first upgrade of a vehicle by 67% is head units. Speakers come in second. And most people change there speakers cause the stock paper cones are not durable enough to play at teenage levels. Don't mean to flame.. just telling you where I come from. Figured its only polite since you told me your side of coin
Pappie <-------- steppin off the box
P.S. I got extra gauges too!!

Message: I feel you pappie, I see a bunch of ricers with guages and I know dam well they aren't running a turbo/blower. I have had a few sports cars and since I never had any major performance mod done I never had any extra guages, but now since I've installed the blower on my R/T it justifies it.
Yeah though I think it's overkill unless you have installed something that requires monitoring, the stock guages are fine... hell you figure it will cost around 300 bones for a triple pillar pod and 3 popular guages used! why not put that money into something thats actually going to justify those guages.

Message: ok, i was talking engine mods, and for one, i hate audio equipment,
it adds weight, which slows the truck down, and if my oil pressure
drops too low, im sure sas hell not going to driving around, because
factory gauges just tell you that you just broke your engine beyond
repair, plus my engine just ifies it with the cam upgrade i have, the
head mods, and everything else i have done, so i dont want to
waste my money if something breaks...i am working on a high
school budget and my parents dont pay for anything for the
dakota, so i need to preserve my money

Message: the dude- sorry no one answered your question about the a/f gauge spencer is correct they come with everything but what he didn't tell you is where to hook up the input to the best way is to install a separate o2 sensor but i followed speedtweaks' tip for the 97 and up daks find the 18 ga orange w tan tracer on the passenger side pcm hookups just tap into it so the pcm still gets the signal too. had this installed for about 3 months and works great!
