Subject: Dont neglect Gen II's

Message:
Hey guys, I currently have a 92 CC 4x4 5.2 with some aftermarket goodies. But lately I've been wanting to do a Gen II project. Lowered, shaved, high HP 360 with a manual. I was wondering if anyone had ideas, thoughts, pictures or comments of this or their custom Gen II? Thanx alot

Take a look at some pics on my website (the url is in my profile).

My '95 5-speed is getting paint, a Pro Finish hood, some other goodies and the cherry on the sundae is a freshly built 408 going in.

Gen II's rule. Can you say, power to weigh ratio?

Ya that things gunna be a rocket man. Ive been looking at the few Gen II's on the net and saw yours, I really like the front end on that its sharp.

I actually found my starter dak tonight, maybe. The problem is its a 91. So I'm hoping to get ahold of a 360 magnum for it so the swap is easier. And I understand that a 92 or 93 wiring harness is a prime candidate for donership? What kinda mess am I getting into here? Oh ya this 91 is a manual, would anyone happen to have any information on that or if the 360 will even bolt to it?

I appreciate the help and feedback guyz, keep er coming.

Yes on the '92 or '93 wiring harness. Unless you can get a screaming deal on the '91 (like almost free), I'd avoid it. Life will be much easier if you start with a Magnum truck to begin with.

If you do go ahead with it, good luck. If the '91 manual truck is a 6-cylinder, then I know the tranny will bolt to the 360. If it's a 4cyl, I'm not sure.

Well Im pretty sure its gunna be a screaming deal. SO lets say I take it, what kind of things am i going to need? How much work? and ya its a v6 wuth a 5 speed. Is that tranny capable of holding up to a 408 or built 360? I really want to do this and like hearing feedback before I start.

Thats one tricked out truck you have....how do you like it? Have you ever showed it?

just a suggestion here but you could keep the 6 in it and make a rocket out of it, just gotta make it a carb set up instead of a TBI set up

ya that is a good idea too, but Ive been wanting a V8 with a standard behind it for awhile now so I'm willing to take the risk of more work. But you bring up a good point. How hard would it be to put a carbed 360 in there? what kind of mileage would you get out of a 450 HP carb motor?
