Message: i have a urethane rollpan to replace my lund fiberglass, i want to "mold" it to the body. i know i should have bought a steel one, but i hate how it is straight, The SS has nice curves to it. i have seen 2 daks last year that had thiers molded but i never asked them. so anyways, i would prolly have to make some kind of braces to reinforce it so it doesnt crack later. so do i use bondo or some kind of glass? thanks

Message: well, if your talkin about doing it yourself, then its definitely gonna crack! even alot of good bodyshops never guarantee that molding a plastic rollpan won't crack. i think they use either fiberglass or a kind of epoxy to do it. I have a steel one that was molded on(DONT ASK ME WHY HE DIDN'T WELD IT!!! Im pissed at him), and it cracks every time he redoes it! so, u might find someone who can keep it from crackin, but IMHO i dont think so. good luck! Peace

Message: it will crack. even the metal ones that are welded will crack over time.

Message: the only way that it might work is to duraglass the urethan to the metal. it will still most likely crack because they are two different materials. buy a steel or fiberglass roll pan if you want to mold it.

Message: alright, thanks guys. i might just save $$$$ and just bolt it on the old fashion way. the daks black so its kinda hard to notice those gaps...
