Message: Thats tight..I got 20's on my 2000 dakota..You like him?...About going 22's good luck..the problem with 22's is how wide the wheels have to be..The only way your getting 22's on a dakota is rear only..believe me it's been tried.

Message: i have seen 22's on a dakota all the way around. the truck was stock height though. Coddington, Budnik, colorado custom, and billet specialties will build a 22" rim to your specifications.
if you wanted to put 22's on a truck that was 'bagged it would be really easy because the way the front tires camber in. you would have to cut out the wheel wells, but you would to do it anyway if you only had 20's on it.

Message: you can lower it. i have a 4/6 drop on mine with 20's. the only way you are going to tuck on 20's, is to air bagg it, and cut out the wheel wells. if the 20" R/T wheels use the same backspacing as the factory 17's you might have to flare the fenders also.

Message: Roby, thanks for the buisness!
Yea, the 20" R/T's have the same back spacing as the 17" so if you want to "tuck" the rims under the truck you will need to flare the fenders. You can on the other hand just drop the truck. Alot of what you can do will be based on what tires you select. You can always drop the truck lower with a lower profile tire, but if you want more versility with the truck(everyday driving0 you probally want alittle higher tire...so give it some thought, and if you need any help just drop me an email.

I dropped mine 2/4 and with the factory back spacing, I know for "FACT" you will have to flare the fenders. I tried 17" R/T wheels and they wont fit,... 20's "Good Luck!"
How do you "flare" the fenders?

Message: Exactly what iv been saying for the passed year and a half (about the rims) QuickRacing.
Plenty of R/T guys out there with lowered vehicles on 17's that rub, Let alone trying to get 20's under there...
Reddak I noticed you mentioned something about daily driving. My suggestion is if your driving it on a regular basis dont worry about the chuck wagons. Leave your 15's or 17's on until you get to the show. Thats if you want to have some rubber left to drive to the car show, thats just me though mr. conservative.

Message: BobRoss, the issue of rubbing on 20s will depend on what offset you choose. Choose the wrong one and you'll have a problem. Choose the right one and you'll be nothing but smiles. I just put 20s on my R/T a week ago and even over the nasty Calif roads where I experience full suspension travel, not a hint of rubbing. In my case I brought the outer edge of the front wheels in 1/4" from the factory R/T position. On the rears I actually pushed it out 1/2". Wheels are Coddington Infinity 6s.
Specs for those wondering about offsets:
20"x8.5" fronts w/5.75" backspacing running 255/35/20 Dunlop SP9000 tires.
20"x10" rears w/6.5" backspacing running 295/40/20 Dunlop SP9000s.
The truck is lowered with a full Hotchkis suspension and it is my daily driver. 20s can be done quite nicely, you just have to do your homework.

Message: What up? I think i have decided on a wheel...I have a 3/5 drop and i think i am going to go with the 20 x 8.5 BOSS 303 Chrome. The offset is +10mm. BSM 5.086. (whatever that is). So will this wheel be a good fit with a good offset? I dont want the wheel sticking out of the wheel well so im not sure about offsets. And then i think i want to go with a 40 series tire...will that work? Any tire suggestions. Thanks.
