Message: I own a 2000 Dodge Dakota club cab. everything on it is factory I am geting some wheels soon 17x8 I am not too knowledgable on tire sizes what I want is a nice thin tire that will look good with this size rim, Also I need to drop my truck 3 inches in the front and 5 inches in the back can this be done by someone who has very little knowlege of vehicles? if not how much would a shop charge me to drop it to where I want it. Sorry for being such a newbie to this any help would be greatly appriciated.

Message: DO NOT USE A REAL LOW PROFILE TIRE ON THIS DROP AS IT WILL NOT FILL UP THE WHEEL WELL AND WILL LOOK VERY GETTO... TRY USING A 50 SERIES TIRE LIKE A 245/50R17 NITTO TO FILL UP THE WHEEL WELLS. IT IS AVAILABLE AT DISCOUNTDIRECT.COM AT A GOOD PRICE AND WILL FAKE YOUR FREINDS INTO THINKING YOU HAVE 18'S OR BETTER.

Message: Mark
Thanks for the reply, I checked out discountdirect and found a set of tires I like except they have a blue strip on the tread can i get them with out the stripe? also do you have any info on pricing for lowering vehicles. Also Im looking to drop my truck as much as possible but with out hitting any speed bumps or bottoming out when I pull it in my drive way will 4/6 work for this? let me know what you think.
Thanks

Message: jeremy, the tread with the strip is the bfg scorchers. (available in blue, red, and yellow) you cant get them without the color's in the tread.
as far as dropping goes, i have a 4/6 drop on mine and with a 245/45/17 i scraped over good size speed bumps and verry steep driveways. now im rinning a 255/35/20 and verry rarely scrape. although the front tire does rubb the fender a little on the freeway.
go with a 245/50/17 they are .38" shorter than mine. you wont rubb the fenders and you wont scrapeover anything.
if you want a pic of my truck let me know. you can get an idea of how it will fill the well.

Message: i sent the picks let me know what you think. as for the cost it cost me $350 for labor including the welding in of my c-notch. i live in Los Angles, where there is a lot of compitition of suspencion shops. just shop around. a cheap price is not always good. some shops are cheap, but do crappy work. my friend learned that the hard way.

Message: ALSO TRY STYLIN CONCEPTS (.COM) THEY HAVE BEEN AROUND ALONG TIME AND HAVE SUPPLIED PARTS FOR SEVERAL OF MY MAGAZINE FEATURES. NOTHING HAS EVER BEEN FREE, BUT GEUSS WHAT THEY ARE STILL AROUND TO WARRANTY STUFF. THE BEST KIT OUT THERE IS DJM BUT ORDER TALLER 2.5-3" BUMP STOPS FOR THE FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARMS.(OTHER WISE IT'S TIRE MUNCH CITY!) AND A 3/5 DROP IS BEST FOR A DAILY DRIVER. OTHER WISE LOOK INTO FIRESTONE AIR BAGS...

Message: djm sucks. i have heard many complaints. mark what truck do you have for a feature? and in what mag? (my friends dak is the one in all the stillen ads). you said do a 3/5 drop for everyday use or 'bag it? what happened to the 4/6 drop? i have a 4/6 on mine for 2 1/2 years with no problems. and VERRY rarely scrape (on the 20's) even my 17's didnt bother me that much.
