Message: From what I've read on here, the gutter guard works, but some have said it corroded.
Since my Dak is Graphite/Silver, with a chrome grille, I think I'm gonna use the spray-in bedliner stuff before installing it to protect it and paint it black.
My only question is, what kind of prep work do you have to do to get it to stick to the aluminim.

Message: I just installed the gutter gaurd on my grille this weekend. I used chimptopias website and it was easy. I have the chrome grille on my truck and the even thoguh the gutter guard isn't chrome it looks really good. Heck for 5 dollars i really can't complain.

Message: Mines been on for about 18 months now. You can't tell from the picture but it's starting
to discolor in a couple spots.
I think it should first be painted with a metal paint like Tremclad then clearcoated.
When the weather warms abit, I'm taking mine off and painting it.

Message: I looked all over before deciding which grill to go with, in the end i have a grille-tech grille but the hood latch extension that came with it was cheap and flimsy so i looked around and found that grillcraft has a much better way. It is way easier to install than the chimps too, not that his is bad or anything. Just go to grillcrafts web site and look at the install instructions and you will see what i mean. Also, make sure you clean and protect the grille you put on very well, mine has only been on 5 months and it is rusting all over.

Message: The stuff from lowes or homedepot is pretty flimsey and not very sturdy. I bought some but I'm not going to use it, it's just too thin for my tastes. I have been looking around and I think I am going to use something similar to:

Message: I got my stuff off a guy on ebay. Sure you pay for the shipping, BUT the stuff he has wont discolor. Its been over a year now since i had it on the truck and it still looks great! As for a attachment to get your grill open, I used a coat hanger, bent the bottom so i cold get ahold of it, and it works great! You dont need to buy any special kit for this stuff. Its all pretty simple :)
