Subject: dressing up the engine bay.. tips

Message:
Ey guys just wondering what you did to clean up the engine bay, I've looked for billet caps/accessories and such but I haven't found anything for under the hood. It would be nice if there was a standard engine dress-up kit for our trucks. Post up some tips/tricks and possibly links to parts to make it look tricker under the hood.

Also what's the trick to feeding wire into a loom if the wire is already hooked up/active? ... I tried a small screwdriver but it's still a pain to get them in the loom.

thanks everyone!

There isn't much out there that's a direct fit for Dodge Dakotas... I've been in communication with a company to come out with some nice billet pieces for under the hood but they're still in the development phase - I'll post notes when they're made available.

Generic stuff is available for various itesm... Wire looms, billet fuel caps (www.billetsuperstore.com), plus a lot of ingenuity.

I need to take some newer photos of the engine bay since I've further installed/tidied up the silver wire looms, upgraded to the newer 360AirIntakez 3.5" tube/shield, K&N Aluminum Air Hat, MSD Digital 6+/Blaster SS, yada yada...

that looks nice bro, where did you pick up that R/T battery bracket? It's just hard to believe that more stuff isn't available, I mean our engines are pretty robust.. it's not like they are exclusive to one model/one year or anything.

Just noticed on truckperformance.com they have colored loom along with T connectors just for wire loom so that's cool. Maybe I'll make a project out of it, I'd go with blue. They also have the colored zip ties but home depot has those. Hell if I replace 1-2 wire looms a day I'll have the entire bay done in less than a week I think and it would look pretty good.

SinCity's looks sweet but I'm not big on chrome/silver.. in fact I'm thinking about black wrinkle-finishing my powerdyne leaving the bolt heads satin... check this out > http://www.jimsautoparts.com/paint.htm $8.50 for a can of mopar wrinke-finish paint.

Jeff Arnold makes the R/T battery brackets (as well as the R/T door sills and the R/T 3rd brake lights covers)... He only makes his projects once in a blue moon so they're not always available. You can reach him at flameredrt@hotmail.com

I got my silver chrome looms from Liteglow. They sell 15-20 foot lengths of the stuff for the prices that other retailers charge for 5 feet, so it's quite a value. Go to www.liteglow.com to see some of their selection, and talk to Jason Landau for prices.
