Message: hey i had a lund for 85 bucks off of the net but i got rearended last week. so now i want to get the Street Scene roll pan. both are urethene which is slightly better then fiberglass. however metal is the best but i hate how straight they are but can withstand cracking and chipping unlike fiberglass. however, metal can get dinged and fiberglass cannot- it can chip paint at the most. so i will have my body shop guy "bondo" in my urethane SS rollpan- i picked this one b/c i love how it mirrors the top curve of the tailgate. if u want top notch qaulity and durabilty, get metal, if u want better looks and less wieght, get fiberglass/urethane heres a site that sells pans and only the sir michaels is metal http://www.truckperformance.com/products/?searchtype=d&sortorder=&urlsubcategory=Body+Styling&productcategory=Rollpans%2FRear+Bumper+Covers&sf1=DODGE&sf2=1997&sf3=DAKOTA

Message: My rollpan is fiberglass. Its the APC fiberglass one. It looks good and i wasnt going to spend $130-150 on a rollpan. i just put it on. I paid 85$ for the rollpan and 85$ for it painted/installed.

Message: I went with the Sir Micheal's rollpan. I like the way it looks and you can beat it's durability. Plus it's much cheaper to paint because it's metal.

Message: go with steel. wont flex and the paint wont
crack. get a weld in sir michaels...they look
super clean, make sure they prime the inside
before they weld it in...bare steel rusts very
easily, believe me! you can buy directly from

Message: i know steel pans are so much better in every category except LOOKS! they just cant mold steel the way they can mold glass/urethane. i would rather go for looks b/c all the metal ones are totally straight across and unless u have a looow drop it doesnt look all that hot. im having my SS urethane molded in just like those ricers have thier body kits molded in. my 2 cents

Message: I am going with the steel Sir Micheals. I want the durability and they look pretty good. A hell of a lot better than the bumper. I will spend the extra money because afterall...it is my Dakota.
