 Subject: Reverse Indiglo Gauges

I was installing reverse indiglo gauges in my 92 Dak, and i was going to wire them into the cd player, so they would come on when the truck was on... so that they could be on all the time. I hooked them up, and they worked great, so I decided to put the dash back together, but for some reason, something told me to check them again. Upon doing so, the cd player stopped working, and they went out, as well as the light that goes to the ashtray. I checked all my fuses, and they are fine... double checked, fine, and even triple checked them. I dont think I fried anything. But was wondering if there was any place for other fuses, I know of the ones under the hood... Ive checked all the wiring, and everything checks out ok... and for being on when the truck is runnin, I think I am going to just wire them to the headlight switch, but any help would be apreciated, thanks!

CHeck the fuses on the drivers side of the dash behind the little panel.

I've blown my radio fuse before, it is under the hood in that fuse box on the drivers side....i think it is a 5 amp... I wired mine to my ashtray light. I actually just cut the light off completely, cuz it always annoyed me, so now the gauges come on with my headlight.

I just wired mine to the cigarette lighter fuse. The dash lights up when ever the truck is running. You might want to try disconnecting your gauges and trying it there.

hey i have a question, i have a 4cyl dakota 5spd and im looking into getting some stylish gauges faces. but i have only noticed offers on 6 or 8 dakotas. do they not sell them for 4cyl.s? some flame gauges would be excellent!

I don't think it has anything to do with what motor you have. They are offered for those with the 6000 tach, 7000 tach, and those with no tachometer. Which do you have? I'll see if I can find some for you. Also, what year is your Dakota?

thanks man. that'd be great. yeah its just that i dont have a tach on my dash. the fuel gauge is in that spot. its a 98 dakota sport . 4cyl/5spd.

You need to get a guages made for trucks without tachs then. They make them. Just have to specify when you order that you don't have a tach.
