I was wanting to paint alot of the black trim in my 98 Dakota Reg cab, with blue paint that i got at Car-Quest. I have tested the paint on some stuff to see how well the color matched and it was neerly a perfect match. I did notice however that it seems the change to kind of a dark purple color depending on the angle you hold it. I see this as a bonus though. The paint says that it works on plastics and seems to be strong. If anyone has pictures of their truck with the interior trimed PLEASE post them or send me some picures to JustinHinton@hotmail.com
I would also like to know how to get the inside trim around the door handles off, if anyon could help. Thank for you time

Justin

it's duplicolor Mirage. I found out everything from chuck's site (its awesome):

i still need to wet sand it, but i don't have the balls to.
about the door handle trim, it's melted on in the back, i wanted to paint that too, but didn't know how i could put it back on. what's not in my pics is that i painted anything i could take off: the seat recline lever, the seatbelt top, fusebox cover, my speaker box ports. Hope this helps.

I painted the trim around my door handles and the handle itself. Just cut the plastic studs off on the back of the panel with an exacto knife. Then use #10 screws and washers (i think) to replace the trim. I did it about a year ago and it still looks great and it is just as solid as it was before. Later.

on mine i just cleaned up the parts really well. Any of those "orange" cleaners work really well at getting rid of grease. I used Dupli-Color Intense Blue Pearl T359 spray paint which has held up really well. I didnt sand any of it smooth because i like the texture of the pieces and it also makes it look "purplish" at certain angles. Later on i might fiberglass some of my dash and paint it but thats later on into the future.
