Message: I was wanting to paint alot of the black trim in my 98 Dakota Reg cab, with blue paint that i got at Car-Quest. I have tested the paint on some stuff to see how well the color matched and it was neerly a perfect match. I did notice however that it seems the change to kind of a dark purple color depending on the angle you hold it. I see this as a bonus though. The paint says that it works on plastics and seems to be strong. If anyone has pictures of their truck with the interior trimed PLEASE post them or send me some picures to JustinHinton@hotmail.com
I would also like to know how to get the inside trim around the door handles off, if anyon could help. Thank for you time

Message: ill take some pics for you asap, its not that hard to do, painting your trim..if you have ever used armor-all or any other type of protectant/gloss...take your time, use paint thinner/wax remover, anything short of sandblasting to get all of the residue off of the trim. otherwise the paint bubbles and is a huge pain to deal with. as far as the trim around the door handles goes, unless you are a really talented interior/body guy, dont do it..they use those stupid little melted plastic tabs to keep it all together...no way to disassemble that stuff. good luck!

Message: I painted the interior of my old Cavalier with some Dupli-Color paint that changed color from blue to purple at the angles.
I would advise that you clean all the parts with a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol to get all the armor all off and stuff like afi360 said.
Best thing to do would be to sand it down with like some 1500 grit, but if you can't take it out of the truck, then I would advise against sanding in the cab.
Also, I don't know if this is possible or not, but it was an idea that I was entertaining last week. You may be able to buy a dash kit for it, and paint those pieces and then put the dash kit on instead of painting the actual dash itself. God knows that it would be easier to replace the dashkit parts then the DASH parts when they need painted again.

Message: good point dan.
yea, since i didnt get all of the armor all crap off, i had to sand it down completely, almost seems it worked out better.

Message: I don't know about theirs, but with mine, they're a little sticky sometimes. Maybe its cuz i put kinda alot of coats and it added some surface to it, but it hasn't really been a problem yet. Maybe too cuz in Florida the humidity is hell!
