Message: What's your experience in buying, quality, and installation of flat dash kits? I want to buy one online, but there are so many vendors and prices vary quite a bit. Any suggestions? Thanks

Message: hey if you're lookin...
i got a 98-00 synthetic aluminum dash kit from autoaccessory.com.
13 pieces, for my 00 RT. comes with the alternate left side piece for the other headlight switch area (98-99). all cleaners, and adhesive wipes, instructions included.
if you like this kind, i am selling it for 100. i have an amber fire dakota, with graphite and bone leather interior... the aluminum just won't go with it i think, so i sell :)
thanks!

Message: you can check ebay... or just put a search in google for aluminum (wood, carbon fiber) dash kits.
the only hard part is making sure your dash is clean. use the preparation pads and get all your armor all residue off first :)

Message: John I got a flat cherry wood finish dash kit about a month ago from autoaccessory.com, actually got it off one of their ebay auctions for $139 shipped. Great quality and fit, everyone that has seen it so far has complimented the appearance. I haven't had a chance to finish putting all the pieces on(just the 8 pieces on dash)cuz it's been too damn cold and the pieces that require some bending to fit flat(doors, overhead console) aren't bending that well so I am waiting for warmer weather to finish it up.
I will be getting another kit for the wives Dak from them in a couple months when it warms up. I ordered sample pieces of brushed aluminum and white carbon fiber to see what will look best in her Dak before I choose which one.
Flowmaster cat back w/15 inch chrome tip, Volant Intake, Poweraid TB Spacer, Splitfire Plugs, full synthetic fluids 3 inch body/1.5 inch Block Lift, 305 70-16 X-Terrains on AR Terons, Pro Comp ES9000's Grizzly double/single rollbar with (6) Hella's, Manik Nerfs, Line-X, Hard Work & $$$$$$$$$$

Message: Are the dash kits paintable?
I don't feel like pulling everything apart and painting it, I was wondering if they were paintable, and then just do it that way.

Message: Dan Minnocci,
I have painted many sets.
Take the peices out of your dash and lightly scuff them up with some scuffy pads. Make sure you wash them REALLY good to get off any wax and dust. Then dry the pieces and spray them with a plastic bonding agent (any good paint supply store will have it). Then once that flashes (dry), spray it the color you want it. Try to buy paint made for plastic. If you don't use the bonding agent, the paint will most likely scratch off very quickly if not immediatly. I made this mistake myself. It also allows for minor flexing without cracking the paint. You can clear-coat it if you want, but most Enamel sprays don't need it.
Have fun

These are half decent kits, depending on what peices you want.
