Subject: Cheapest source for cowl hoods? IP: Logged
Message: Does anybody know of a source for reflexxion cowl hoods online that has the best pricing? Im looking to ship to Canada but the cost from stores here is prohibitive they want over a grand for one (canadian) and i know i can buy one from the states and ship cheaper then that.

Message: TJ,
This is the hood I contemplate installing on my Dak.
The best list-price I found was US$395, handling was about $25 and shipping was around $175 if I remember correctly. Pretty pricey, even here.
A good friend of mine happens to be a dealer and will get one for me as a favor for $473 delivered to his shop (his actual cost).
I don't know where you are located up there, but if you ever decide to take a few days vacation, I'm sure I could hook you up with the same deal.I also have an excellent painter who could shoot it (I have not checked the cost of painting the hood).
Any way you go, this awesome hood is gonna cost some bucks! Hope this helps.

Message: email john @ jmmtsb@prodigy.net for a cowl hood. $379 includes S&H to U.S. I just bought one from him yesterday. $379 isnt bad. I don't know what the additional S&H will be to Canada. -Jacob

Message: Call around your area. At the last minute, I made a couple phone calls and got a Reflexxion cowl late the next day (it was shipped from Idaho or Spokane) for like 435 or something. They all have about the same prices on the hoods, it comes down to who has the best shipping.
Then the box is huge. The box just fit in our GMC 1500 w/ a camper shell.

Message: nitroussteve, the reflexxion cowl hood is metal and the best looking hood for the Gen III daks IMO.
99ccrt, is that pricing for the reflexxion hood or a fiberglass cowl hood? If it is the reflexxion looks like I know where I am ordering mine in a couple weeks once the tax return hits my bank:)
I got a buddy who is spraying/installing the hood when I get it and the SS Bumper Cover that is in my shed now. He is only chargin me for the cost of material, no labor:) I will be installing a high-end stereo system in his Stang as a trade-off before springtime.
