I really like these wheels!

It's front 19x10/rear 19x13... Obviously, 13" is too wide. Would 10" wide wheels fit on a Dak? I'm really interested in these ones...:) Plus, if I really wanted to put on rear 13" wides, what would I have to do besides making the wheel wells in the bed bigger?

Anyone know of anyone who has put these on a Dakota?

if you got it spaced correctly and add a panhard bar to your axle (the dak's rear axle is know to move an inch or more during a hard corner) you could run the 13" wide wheels... with some 335width tires... that would help the traction issue a lot. p.s. how much $$ are those 19's....

Only problem might be, I don't know if there's a tire made to fit the rear 13"-wides that would be able to handle the weight of the truck.

I looked around... The only one I could find that could accomadate a 13" wide rim is made by Michelin (Pilot Sport), and I don't know if it could handle the weight of a truck.

EDIT:

My bad, the rear-tires would have no problem, but fronts on the other hand of the same brand/type, I don't know if they'd be able to withstand the weight of the front-end/engine. And me being me, I'd hate to mix-and-match tires...

first off, no way a 13" wide wheel will fit inside the wheel well of a Dak without MAJOR modifications. R/T's have 9" wheels and there's not a whole lot of room left. You'd have to narrow the rear axle, then figure out a way to relocate the rear suspension, plus widen the wheel tubs. Figure a 13" Viper wheel will have a tire at least 14" wide, maybe more! That's at least 4" more width than a standard R/T tire. At the very least you'd have to jack up the rear end, and go down the road with the rear tires hanging out in the breeze like those guys you see with 13" tires and wheels on their Buick Skylarks from 'da Hood.

What you can do is put on 4 10" Viper front wheels all the way around with no mods, and that will work.

10 inchers all around would definately be nice! But 13 inchers in the rear would be even nicer if they were tucked and didnt stick out. I think it's very possible, I mean, people can put HUGE slicks in rear and they don't stick out. I've seen a Dakota with slicks, the wheel tubs were cut out and the bed inside was cut out more to fit the tires. If I did do that, though, I'd have to put in some bigger wheel tubs, I'd hate to have the tires just showing in the bed.

Screwed up again!

Didn't mean TUCKED, I mean flush with the body, like the stock appearance.

what looks better like 17's 18's 19's or like 14's 13's 12's which looks better if you r going to drop a 97 dak sport reg cab

In my opinion, it depends on how much of a drop.I think 19's are the best-proptortioned size for a Dakota.

BTW, I think it would just be easier to put 19x10's all around, but where's the fun in that? I think all that'd really have to be done is an axle shorten and respline, cut out the wheel tubs and make bigger ones to put in their place, and move the hangers/shackles/leafsprings to the inside of the frame, instead of the outside like it is.:) I could always go to the shop and tell them to do what's best, though.

I Had my R/T rims (17x9) Widened 2" on the rear. So they are 17x11s. They have about a 1 1/4" between rim and spring and 1" between spring and tire. I currently run 315s out back but could fit 335s.

Maybe to accomodate 13" wides, the hangers/shackles/leafsprings could be relocated, to the bottom of the frame, or maybe the inside... I wonder if that would be bad for suspension and drivetrain, though?

Yep, they are VERY pricey... the 19x10's are $1200 each, and the 19x13's are $1400 each.
