Subject: Lowering Dakota??? IP: Logged
Message: Ok, i used to have a 2001 Dakota V6 that i had planned on lowering 2" in the rear to level out. Well things have changed and i ended up with a 2000 regular cab R/T. Now i'm curious if i can still use these same 2" hangers. I know they will work, but now i'm worried that they will lower the rear too much. If this is the case, i'd have to also lower the front, which i wasn't really wanting to do...unless someone had a cost-effective alternative that i could use (front coils?).
Also, how much better are the hotchkis rear springs than my 2" drop hangers? What does Hotchkis use in the front to lower?
Thanks for any help

Message: The R/T is down 1" from stock. You can use the hangers without problems. You'll probably want to drop the front, unless you want the nose pointing up.
The Hothckis springs are dearched relative to stock, and are considerably stiffer. If they weren't stiffer, you'd bottom out a lot. I prefer the Hotchkis ride, but I also have the sway bars. That said, I did the drop in stages a few days apart. The rear didn't make near as much difference as the front.
Hotchkis lowers the front with shorter/stiffer springs. Much better than cutting or heating the stock coils. The front sway bar is the best part. You can get it for stock or dropped.
