Subject: Cleaning tips? IP: Logged
Message: Do any of you have some suggestions for cleaning windows? I do use newspaper. But I've found that over time, there are lots of spots that don't seem to be cleanable. Maybe hard water is causing it? Almost like a pitting....
This also seems to happen over time with the body of the truck too.
Are there any suggestions on better car wash products?

Message: For the windows use #000 (triple-zero) steel wool. Use it with ammonia or just a regular window cleaner. Your windows will never look better. DO NOT use this on your paint. Believe me, it wont scratch your windows. Do it on your neighboors car or something as a test if you're that worried. Be sure to just throw the wool away once you're done though. If you leave it, it'll rust and oxidized steel wool will scratch your windows. You can also use some type of window polish, but steel wool works just as well and is cheaper. Oh, and don't do this to your tinted windows.
Zaino or Meguires should take care of, and prevent, any paint problems you are having.

Message: Mike...
Regarding the tinted windows...
The rear and back cab windows of my QC are factory tinted. So are the side and rear windows on my Pontiac van. So why not use it on the tinted ones? I might could understand it on after market tinting.
Thanks!
