I have a 4/6 drop on my truck now, and im thinking of putting a full air ride suspencion on it. Only one problem. In order to tuck my 20s I have to cut the hell out of it! I'm going with a 4-link in the rear (I like a good ride) and tubbing the bed. in the front I will have to relocate things. I'll probably put the battery in the bed, but does anyone know where I should put the PCM, fuses and abs sencor? has anyone in here done this to their truck and how does it ride and handle? Thanks

I don't have 20's, but I am bagged on 18's. You are going to have to hack the shit out of the truck. I have been thinking of making custom front fender so my front wheels will tuck in all the way, but I need space to put all of the stuff. Check out www.smokindakota.com . I need to get some smaller width tires to tuck harder.

is yours the green one? if not what color is it?
i was thinking of making new fenders for it, but the hood hinges are attatched to the origional fenders, and it probably not close if new fenders are made.
what series tire are you running? i have seen a dakota on 18s laying frame, but he had a real small tire.

Yes it is the dark green one, shave all the way around. I have some 245/55/18 on it but the tires were to big and when I drop it all the way they rubber on the fenders up front and bed in the back. I just got some new 225/40/18 Yoko Paradas and now it will lay frame or at least crossmember. I can't go any lower without a body drop, soon. I need to cut a hole for the pumpkin in the rear so the rear will rest lower or just wait for the body drop and move the floor up the bed up a little more.

how much of a body drop are you doing...3"? are you going to cut off the pinch moldings on the bottom, and where are you going to relocate all of the things that are attached to the fenders? (scence they have to go) are you going to get a cowl hood? and how are you going to modify the seats so you wont be sitting so high up? sorry for so many q's but im going to do some of this to mine.

I am in Southern California. I am around Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties a lot. I will venture down into LA and Orange county for shows, to pick up product or to visit family.
I will probably go with the 3" body drop. I will have to make new fenders, not sure about chopping off the pinch molds. I will let my boys at Totally Polished (www.totallypolished.com) worry about that when the time comes around. Hopefully soon, but don't know how long. Let me know how yours comes out. Oh and I plan on getting some different seats so I won't be sitting so high, maybe some civic seats.
