Hey, i have clear tail lights on my dakota and have been ticketed twice for them. Ive noticed other people wondering about getting tickets as well with them. After the second time, the cop told me to put red reflectors on it and i wouldnt get bugged as much. I decided to use red reflector tape used for bikes and just cut it to size and tape it too the lights. Ive never posted pictures on here before so hopefully it works, it might not though, haha.
Hopefully these give other people ideas on what to do with the clear lights and making them "more" legal.

Hey, thanks! I got a body shop to actually paint the trim when i got all my handles and mirrors and bumpers painted. They just taped up the rest of the lense and then painted them the same way. I might have pics of them taped up somewhere, ill look. As for the tickets, the first one was 86 canadian, plus i had to go up to the cop shop to show i put my old ones back on. The second one, the cop just gave me a vehicle inspection because he said it would be cheaper than giving me tickets for my lights, no front lisence, and my tinted windows. The vehicle inspection was 80 canadian. Cops havent said anything since, so hopefully this will work best!

The second cop sounds like a cool guy. I dont know if 160 can dollars was worth the look of those clears though.

you know, I had a pair of clear tails on a couple weeks ago and since i had the red LED break lights, i didnt have any problems with cops. They said its ok as long as you see red when you apply the breaks.. they looked bad ass too.. but then someone rearended me whie i was getting my rearend fxed at the dealership so they lost the bulb and i havent ben able to find it.. oh well i have a pic if intrested..

Hey MnMeLiTe, i have the leds in my clears as well now. One thing i noticed was during the day the whole casing doesnt light up, which makes it so you only see a red bulb circle. Is yours the same way, or does yours light up the whole casing in daylight? at nite it works great though.

wel the pic didnt come up. But yeah, in daylight, all you see is the red led's... It's cool though. I dont think there should be a reason for police to pull you over or anyone for that matter. the LED's make it lega. and it shines red and not pink or white. how do you post pics on here again, at is the code thing??

Hey, thanks for the reply mike. I like the look of just the bulb in the day, my friend says its looks like red eyes on the back of my truck, but i just didnt know if i bought the wrong leds or not. I thought there might not be such direct ones. But, thats cool that others are like that as well!
