Subject: Low Profile Tonneau? IP: Logged
Message: I have been looking for the lowest profile hard tonneau covers for my 2000 Dakota Flame Red R/T. What's the best models to look at for this? Seems like everyone likes the ChekerPro Checkmate FX for the price and fit, but sounds like the finish looks like crap. Then their is the Gemtop Gt Classic which looks nice and seems to fit well, but it is steel and not fiberglass.
I'm confused and want to know which way most of you went? I definitely like the low profile hard tonneau covers, so is their another brand that is as low as these two models but better?
Thanks,
DMan

Message: Checkmate. Ok, so it looks like crap...to most people. Mine didn't bother me, and it may not bother you after you get it. Any serious "customizer" would have it painted regaurdless. I did. They don't come in red, so you would have to paint it any ways. With the money you save on a great cover, you could put it right back into a little more detailed paint work, to fix the appearence. For more info, check the thread that is already going on, on this board, it's still farely new. My two cents.
