Subject: KC lights and Westin push bars IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 QC 4X4 with Westin push bars, and brush guards (over the lights). I just bought some KC 6" Daylighters, and when I went to install them on the mounting tabe on the push bars they didn't fit. The lights themselves are pretty big and there are several areas of interference.
I was wondering if anyone else tried to do this, and if there was an easy fix, or work arount to get them to mount better. I'm probably going to drill holes in the verticle upright part of the push bars and mount the lights sideways. They'll look good, right in front on the push bars, in front of the grill, the only difference will be the mounting base off to the side.
I also wanted to know of anyone thought this would mess up the lights, mounting them sideways, It doesn't say not to, but you never know!
Thanks-

and the lights don't fit inbetween the middle bars when standing upright?
what you might be able to do is see if the mounts pivet. you could drill holes in the front of the pushbar and rotate the lights backwards. a problem would be that the lights would stick out farther than the pushbar. but i dont see a problem mounting the lights on the vertical bar, as long as the lights are round.

Message: the link was a little messed up, but if you are looking at the Westin "Push bars, with t optional separate brush gaurds over the lights, they you're in the right place!
I actually ended up drilling holes in the verticle plates and mounting the lights there, they look fine, and look as if they will work fine, am probably going to start wiring them up tonight...Damn winter, it gets dark at like 5:00pm!!
I'd say that this brush gaurd with these lights isn't the best combo. I like the look of the push bars, and I like the KC lights, just wish they fit together a little easier
Oh well...
