I need to find the wire providing power to my dome light and put a switch in series w/o interfering with the OEM dimmer dial for the gauge cluster...therefore i am able to select between the dome light or an alternate lighting source when i open the door...enlighten me great DAK owners !!

Didn't say what year you had but the simplesest method may be to renove the dome light do your connections there and run the wire under the headliner to where you want to place the switch,
Later model years 01/02 etc the dome light wire can be found in the small gray plug connected to the BCM inside the drivers kick panel, its a yellow wire.
