Subject: Gas door behind taillight? IP: Logged
Message: I saw a picture of this here:
http://artofnoize.com/Cars/mikel/mikelgd.jpg
It actually looks kind of neat, but..
How well does this work? (does it look like ass)
And of course, how much does THIS cost?
Does anyone have anymore information on this?

Message: I think www.totallypolished.com has some info on it. I would think it would be pretty expensive. I've seen more pics of the gas door behind the back license plate in the roll pan. I'd be worried about getting rear ended. I think it would work good, as long as it is designed well.

Message: I'm not so sure that having the fuel filler tube near anything electrical is a very good idea. Okay on a ricer, but not on a Dakota!

Message: Heh, it does seem like there would be way to many problems. Remember, Keep It Simple Stupid.

Message: Hey guys,
I've seen this before. I just recently watched something on the History Channel about Chevy. How the Bel Air was groundbreaking and stuff like that... Anyway, they used the rear tail light to hide the fuel door too. That was back in the 50's I think around '56, but not to sure.
They didn't say anything about problems. I wouldn't worry about the electrical too much, your cell phone is probably more likely to ignite the fumes...
But you're right, it would probably be expensive too have done. Look good on a show truck, not practical otherwise IMO.
