Hi all,
Have any of you installed the Shaker hood on a 4.7? How does it fit? I love the look of that silver 'scoop' sticking up through a black hood and watching it dance when you rev the gas! Whoo Doggy!! :0)

what about rain, snow...water from washing? what happens when it gets in the openings? I know there's a K&N filter in there, but is there someplace for the water to drain? What about the opening around the shaker part...won't you get dirt and water and $hit in there?...
Should I keep my stock hood and just keep swapping them out every winter and spring?...

there is no problem with rain or snow that i've had or any of the others that i asked the same questions of before i bought mine. it is sealed under the hood with a drain hose. the air opening on the 4.7 is at the back facing the windshield not the front. terry at proglass told me if it was in a major snowstorm with wind driving staight into the shaker it might get snow in it. but I haven't heard any problems like that from anybody yet. I had a cowl induction hood on my last truck and i like the shaker much better..

this is the link to terry's shop he is the one who makes the hoods. he is a good guy to deal with and makes one of the best quality products around. I'm trying to remember who else had a 4.7 set-up with underhood pics, if I can't figure out who it was I will take some of mine and post them. I think terry can answer your questions though.
