Im looking to shave my tailgate handle, but i kinda want to just put the original handle inside, instead of the big ugly bracket from sir mike's. has anyone tried this, or does anyone know of a problem that could arise?

If anyone has pictures, it would be very appreciated if you could send some (any kind of shaved tailgate handle (with bracket or not))

esv106@psu.edu

also, what kinda prices have you all paid for the whole process.

i am a question asking maniac today.

I had mine flipped to the inside, and I think the Sir Michaels looks a helluvalot better. All mine is is a nasty square hole with the original handle in the middle;(just the actual handle, not the little circular bezel thing around it). the guy who did it said hee couldn't make it an nicer with the dakota handle cuz it sticks out too much when you flip it.

When I shaved the handle on my 87 Dakota Tailgate, I used the original tailgate handle. I just cut the appropriate size hole in the latch inspection plate on the inside of the tailgate and placed my handle in there.

No problems or nothing, the bezel sticks out a 1/8", but who cares. Looks good
