You usually see them on old muscle cars... The little pins that hold the hood down? What are those called, hood pins?
Well, if you know what I'm talking about, how do those work, and what is good/bad about them?
I was looking at a dak with the grill guards (actually I think it was "gutter guard" but I won't tell on ya) and they made a cable so they could pop their hood... well I was just thinking how cool it would be to have some gutter, I mean grille guards, but I don't want a stupid little cable. And I like the look of those hood pin things, so what the hell right?

Yes, their called hood pins. Nascar uses them, too. You have to drill a place and mount the pin on the radiator support somewhere. Then drill the hood for the other part. This seems very difficult, if possible, for a GenIII Dakota, due to the shape of the support/ hood. Don't know what year you have, but this is my opinion.

HUMMMMM... Well, I have a 2k QC with 4.7. It may be something to do, I haven't seen it done YET? I like the looks of them, but I was just wondering if there were any problems with them, other than people stealing your battery?

I did a preview of what it would look like, i thought they looked cool, but its true about the curvature of the hood, it may not be a very clean install, let me know if you do it!

I likeY... I LIKEY aLOT! I think that is worth investing some time in. Did you ever mount the real things? I'm assuming no... Well, I damn near nothing about them, but I like the look.
So if you had them, could you or do you take your hood lever out and the hook under the hood and everything? Are those pins ALL that's holding sh!t down? If so, that's cool, just wanted to know. C~
