Message: Personally, I think every company in the world overcharges for dakota drop kits. If you only want 2 or 3 inches, you can spend no more than $300 for the whole thing with shocks. Aim Industries has 2or3 inch drop springs for about 90 w/ shipping; you can do blocks yourself from them or an autopart store for under 30; and I love my Doetsch Tech shocks for 40 each. The springs are the only thing u might need to have put in if u cant do it yourself, everything else is easy. And that's under half of 600.

Message: the 2/3-2/4 adjustable drop is priced around 350$ - install yourself free, uses spindles (stock front shocks) and and adjustable hangers and shackles for the rear... i dont think you have to mess with the shocks that way

Message: You do want drop shocks with kit. The truck rides terrible otherwise. It's about $500 with shocks.

Message: i just ordered my kit today (sorry for bringin back the old post, but i needed a bit of help and still can use some...)
came to 655.60$ with a billet grill and shocks...
id like to know, if i have balljoints that are in good shape, do they HAVE to be replaced when doing the drop (replacing spindles?)
and what about a front end alignment? what do i need to do for that?

Message: If you feel your balljoints are in good shape, leave them alone. For an alignment, I'd take it to a local tire shop.

Message: well, they seem fine, no noise... for a while coming off my drive (slight bump) i would hear a slight noise i assumed was a ball joint, but it came, and went, and theyve been greased since
i didnt think the factory ones had grease valves??? apparently these arent stock if thats the case...
