I've seen these on bigger trucks , and even some Jeeps , but never on a DAKOTA ?
I've also searched the internet and couldn't
find a site that sells them ..
Are they all home made .. If any one has
them on there Quad please send some pics
and let me know where you bought them.
I'm planning some fall surf fishing !!
Thanks
Mick

Sorry never seen them on a dak before.

but you should check a store like e&b westmarine and see if you cant get any they sell for boats to work. I think it would be pretty tight to have a set of stainless ones on a stainless brushgaurd.

or cabelos or any hunting and fishing/survival magazine will probably have some.

most of the ones I have ever seen are all custom made. I would say about 90% of them are pvc pipe.

If you had a brush guard you could get the kind of holders that have those clamp style mounts. These are very popular for attaching to stainless supports on boats. I've got two on my flats skiff (a 1620 Action Craft Flyfisher) now, but they are just the cheap plastic kind. The other option would be to flush mount them into a fiberglass topper just like a boat deck.

I know someone makes these things cause they were in almost every bait shop at NagsHead, NC this summer. I am getting one also, should have gotten it then. They are sharp looking and made of aluminum and cost anywhere from $100 to $200. They just bolt up to the bumper, I think holes have to be drilled.

My brother fabbed up a holder for his receiver hitch on the back of his Jeep. Looks good and carried his poles from central NJ to Assateague, MD with no probs via the Cape May ferry.

Never quite understood the purpose of driving down the road with your 9'+ surf rods sticking straight up in front of you. Doesn't anyone care about the beating the rods take from road debris as you are driving down the road? Or is it an ego thing to have the rods exposed for everyone to see while you are driving? For me it has been just as easy to break the rod down to its two pieces and put them into the bed, no chance of damage.

i have did more damage to my rods my putting in bed of truck, when driving on the beach they bounce around and they get busted, when surf fishing they work great you can leave them in rod holders while you fish, and you can have them rigged for different types of fish and they are easy to get to.and some rod holders have a rack for a cooler so the beer is handy along with the bait.
