Subject: Removing the bumper?
IP: Logged

Message:
I want to put on a new chrome valance, I just can't seem to figure out how to remove the front bumper. Has anyone done this? I removed the 4 bolts attaching the bumper to the bracket on the top but there are several tiny screws holding the bumper in place that are impossible to reach! Please help?

You need to remove the bolts that hold the bumper to the frame underneath the truck also. Now you can remove the complete bumper assembly making it possible to get to those small bolts holding on the lower valance.

What year dakota?

On my 2002 CC Dakota All I had to do was remove the 4 top bolts and pull forward and the whole bumper came right off.

If its a 96 and under...I'm not sure but 97+ just remove the top 4 bolts and the whole thing comes right off.

Hope this helps
