Message: A friend of mine did it do his red QC truck, all emblems were removed on the vehicle. I can really reccomend doing it to the sides, it looks awesome with the sides removed. However, the back is not the same case. If the vehicle is stock looking, I.E., not lowered, raised, or aftermarket bumper, it looks very odd -- mine does. Trust me on this one, it just looks odd.
It's a cool thing you're doing this to your 2002 because then there will not be any time for the paint to change colours and leave a high contrast.
Also, I don't know if you know the best ways or not, but I've found:
That you heat it up with just a blow dryer a bit it gets the glue nice and tacky, heat guns are way to hot.
Use dental floss to catch a corner and cut it right off. Very easy. Peeling breaks it most of the time for me when I tried it.
Goo-Gone works great for the stuff left over and it does not hurt the paint. Remember though, to let it soak a little, then clean it all up, then kinda rub and it will all come off. If you just try to rub with the stuff on there, it just smears all over.
The last and option step, would be to take some Dawn to it and strip all that's left there. Then apply new coats of wax on and it blends so perfectly no one can notice, even if they try.
I do not have any pictures, just a couple opinions, sorry.

Message: I have a flame red quad cab, and I removed the black bump strips down the side and the quad cab emblem up top. Left V8 emblem on front and dodge logo across back. Only took about 30 minutes to do with a hair dryer. Just go slow and all the glue should come off. Dont have a pic but I can get one if you want it.

Message: I don't have a quadcab, but I removed all the decals from my truck and it looks great! I could see some shadowing at first, but it eventually blended in with the rest of the paint. I suspect the sun helped fade the paint a little. I like it without the decals. Just say no to stickers and decals!

Message: I took my vinyl stickers off of the tailgate the week after I got my truck. I like it a lot better without them. Just parked in the hot sun for an hour then peeled them off by hand. Came off real clean and it was easy.
Check out the pics here, be sure to enlarge.
