Hey 2k2Dak,
just from one Dak to another, i would recomend the Shaker hood, its performance gains and looks cant be beat, just go to any of the shaker forums and read what some of the people in there are talking about, jsut ask blizzard or mark crisler, they are the ones who got me "hooked on shaka"

Correct me if im wrong, but i dont believe that they make the shaker hood for the 4.7 engine. Right now its only for the 5.2 and the 5.9 because they have different throttle bodie placement.

Does anyone make a cowl looking add on.. for example.. I am suited just find with my cold air induction (ran aluminized flex dryer ducting from behind the grill to the location of the k&n. So similar to those fake lund little intake thingys .. is there a full 3" cowl that stays put with that 3M adhesive?
If there isn't I think it would sell for someone that cannot afford to drop a grand for a real one..
any thoughts??

Actually, my cowl hood only ran me $450..that was hood, shipping, painting, and installation.

No, you were right before. That was $450 USD. But i ordered it out of a magazine, and had it shipped to a body shop, where they painted it and installed it for me. the hood itself was only like $340 USD before painting and installation.

Hhmmm.. well it's something to consider.. that is a sweet hood..
do you recall where you bought it from and the make of the hood?
I still think they should make a stick on cowl the same size.. hehe.. wishful thinking..

I bought it out of Truckin' Magazine. The brand name is Reflexxion. They do pretty darn good work.
