Subject: Speedo recalibration after new rims/tire IP: Logged
Message: Anyone know of a way to do this cheaper then the KRC Gear Box
Any change in a vehicle's tire size or rear axle ratio will cause the speedometer reading to be inaccurate. The KRC Gear Box is designed to correct this problem. With the Gear Box, you simply hook up four wires, set the DIP switches according to the calibration table included with your order, and you are ready to go. This can move the point of the speed limiter also.
Gear Box $149
thanks

I'm pretty sure you can change the tire size, as long as you keep the same diameter. My stock tires were 29.1" so when i get replacements, this is what i'll look for.

Message: I agree with BigRedDak, the only time the gear ratio changes is when the overall tire diameter is different from the stock tire diameter. This is the whole point of plus sizing a tire. Keeping the same or nearly the same overall tire diameter by increasing wheel size but decreasing sidewall size.
