Polished wheels are a lot harder to maintain the gloss look. Chrome wheels are easier to keep cleen.

A polished rim does not have chrome. It is polished to look like chrome, but it is still the base metal, usually aluminum. They are harder to maintain at a high luster.

Chrome kinda looks cheesy in my opinion. I like the polished moo style and there are products you can apply to help keep the sheen protected.

Chrome is just an awesome anti-wear finish, I personally love it, but I'm finding I like polished alumninum rims a lot more in terms of looks. Chrome is easy to over-do, but when done correctly, it really looks good -- very classy.
Chroming is not a very easy or safe pratice either, it uses extreemly harsh acids and I think it's the reason we are seeing more of this plastic sh!t now. I want some anodyzed rims, I wonder what that would look like..
