ummm...just wondering why do you want to put a bunch of plastic pieces on the lower portion of your truck? if you want to make it look lower, lower it. I live in southern california and im into the truck show scene pretty big, and ill tell you the ground effects are OUT OF STYLE!! (on trucks anyways) you will get more laughs than compliments on it(at least out here), although their might be some rednecks out there that will like it =) just tring to help and save you money.

damn you poeple, you're no help....I know Xenon makes them for standard cabs... lots of companies do, Mopar...etc. I can't find anyone that makes them for Quad Cabs. Lowwering my truck won't happen for a long time because I got a 7 year warranty. Also I live in Massachusetts, do you know how many shops there are around here that have the know how to lowwer a truck? Well I sure as hell don't know. everyone gets the 4x4 so they don't get stuck in the snow.

Adam, You might check with Dodge. I think the running boards used on Durangos might work, and they'll join nicely with the Dodge flares if they do. Maybe someone online here can help develop this thought.

By the way, let's all keep our hormones in check here. I really think all these negative comments flying around in these forums can only hurt this website. For every guy that likes one style, there's another who wants to barf when when he sees it. Raised, lowered, winged, mild or wild, or whatever, let's help each other along. If you can't say it respectfully to their face, please don't write here.

Eric, you are cool and I always enjoy reading your helpful comments, especially regarding suspension and style. You were probably joking around but it didn't come off well. Peace Bro!

I live in Massachusetts also, and there are quite a few shops that will lower your truck, they'll just charge you an outrageous amount to do it. It really isn't that hard to do it yourself. If you need some more info on this, drop me a line.
Peace,
Justin

I do want to lowwer my Quad Cab...it would be great if I could do it myself, but if it caused a problem because I did something wrong then my warranty wouldn't cover fixing it. My father would be pissed about that.

Adam,
Installing springs on your QC is easy. The Hotchkis 2/3 drop is a nice kit, but the most expensive. It may also be the least problematic (rubbing etc.). I've heard it's quite stiff, but less so on the QCs because of extra weight. They have a picture of a QC on their website (http://www.hotchkisperformance.com/). Soon you be able to get a group buy discount on this kit with SpeedTweaks (http://www.speedtweaks.net/).

Also consider a Chassis Tech 2/4 drop (I can't find my link). Cheaper, more difficult to install, but has the advantage of using your stock springs which means a great riding lower truck. It is uses drop Arms and rear spring relocation; a shop might charge about $250-$400 labor. It might rub if you're not careful with your aftermarket wheel/tire choice because with this set-up there with be more suspension travel, especially when loaded.

I have a '01 QC and will be doing one of these options. I'm going to run 255/55-18s. They are a tad larger than the stock 16s so I'm a little concerned about rubbing w/ the chassis Tech set-up, but would really prefer the stock spring ride.

I wouldn't trip on your warranty, a mild drop like 2/3 or 2/4 isn't going to hurt anything. 7 years is a long time! I don't think I've ever owned a car that long! Besides you could save the stock parts and return it to stock height easily before you take it to the dealer if you felt it caused a problem.

If you want to SLAM it, talk to Eric (Kota on 20s). I don't think he can get low enough. He pretty good with that stuff. But between your waranty concerns and your Dad, It doesn't look like you'll be going there anytime soon!

Adam,
Here's the link that I was missing. It's Western Chasis. (http://www.sporttruckdirect.com/newdodgekits.html) I hear these are nice quality parts. I looks like they might have "smooth-rider" springs now for the Dakotas.

From what I've seen between my '02 QC and a co-worker's Durango, I thought the QC had a longer wheelbase. You might have to chop the Durango running boards to make them fit.
