Subject: Distinctive Air Dam Fog Lites IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2001 QC Slt and I just put a chrome Distinctive Truck air dam on it. The problem I am having is getting my factory fogs mounted onto the new air dam. I can't find any brackets to mount them without having to buy the lights too. I just need a set of 4" round light brackets as far as I know. I can't get them from Dodge because the factory mounts are molded into the air dam. Has anybody else run into this problem? Anybody have suggestions? Thanks
-Steve

Message: Where did you get this air dam, and does it look any different than the OE one?

Message: Brackets are usually pretty simple to fabricate. A little 3" steel, a hacksaw, and a hammer. I recently installed PIAA 510's in the stock fascia. It took me about 2 hours to fabricate some sturdy brackets for them. 1.5 hours for the first one, 30 minutes for the second one.

Message: Steve,
I Have a Dakota Quad SLT patriot blue also and was going to get the didstinctive Air Dam. Can you get around the bracket problem if you also purchase the light kit with the Distinctive air dam or is the light kit just for Dakotas that don't have fogs? There is a good picture of the Dam on a patriot blue dakota on the web sight Suncoastcreations.com. Go the the customer gallery for Dakota's. That's where I first saw the chrome air dam and had to have one.
