When you install a rollpan, you take off the old bumper braces, correct? Doesn't this now affect my insurance if a car rear ends me, I won't have the support a bumper would give me? The one I have is fiberglass, are steel ones better? If I bought from an actual company like Sir Michaels instead of EBay, like i did, would they actually include supports? I am so confused. Please help. The big thing is how it will affect my coverage. Thanks.

I "Personally" have insurance that covers me with my Fiberglass rollpan. There are no supports that connect to the rollpan. Rollpans are 100% for look. If you get hit in the rear........ Your done! The rollpan will not support at all in a collision. Check with your insurance agent, they tell you if they cover you or not..

when I had my S-10, it just meant that the
person rear ending me had to pay for new
tailgate and rear fenders as well ; )
(bigger cash settlement for me too)

Youngin, you shouldn't have a problem with the insurance. There's no law against running a roll pan, so the insurance company shouldn't care.

How's the truck coming by the way. I met you at Foxwoods, I have the black dak with chrome rims. What kind of rollpan did you get? I still haven't had mine painted yet or had it fitted.

Hey CTDak, its coming along slowly. I had a new deck installed. I have that Alpine 7893 Its a good deck. My brother was going to do some asking for rims for me, 16's nothing spectacular but still chrome, and I have (hopefully) in the mail on the way to my house grill inserts. The rollpan is just a fiberglass one off EBay. Haven't had it installed yet. No subs yet or exhaust. I am looking at getting the Gibson split rear in a few weeks. How about you?

As of right now my truck isn't on the street, I destroyed my new ball joints and I'm switching my front suspension to the Hotchkis springs. I got the same stillen bumper cover as chuck, the intense blue dak, haven't had that painted either. I'm putting the finishing touches on my dash, I painted it red along with the vents. Got some Falken Ziex rubber for the rear wheels. Still deciding on whether or not to pull all the mirrors and door handles off to sand and paint them, might just wait until winter. I did the tail gate already because I got a tail gate lock. Finally, I started to use Zaino as my truck polish, it's the best stuff, I'll never go back to anything else.

The bumper cover was bought on ebay for $225 I think. I have seen it for $250 or a little more at Stillens website. It used to cost $400, that's just way too much.
