will a 285/55/17 fit a 2002 4x4 with all the hd options avalable for a club cab. I'd like to get some R/T wheels for the summer

I don't know what tires are actually that size.. But I don't see any reason you'd have any problems they'd be unde 31" tall and about 11" wide from my best guess.
You should be fine.

I don't think you would have any problems with that size. I have seen and had a '99 with 12.50 wide tires on them stock. Some fit with no modifications, and some require making steering stops to prevent rubbing the frame behind and/ or in front of the axle. I have 275/65R-17 tires on my stock 2000 QC right now with no rub. I have all of the HD options as well. What particular tire are you looking at in that size?

not sure yet, I wana put a set of R/T wheels on it during the summer, and I don't want to screw up my speedo too much. I was on a tire calculator and this size tire seems to be real close to the 2002 4x4 tire "handling package" tire

That's cool!!! Toyo makes a 285/60R-17 if your interested in that size or type of tire.
