 Subject: Windshield Scratches?

I was washing my truck today, and noticed there was two rather long scratches on my windshield, approx. 6" long. I was wondering if they made anything to get rid of them! I thought I remember seeing something somewhere, but that was a while ago! thanks!

you might try a glass polish. but if the scratches are too deep then it might not work. besides, if you dont use the polish the right way, you could put more scratches in your glass. you would just have to go slow and careful with it.

If they are just tiny tiny one, not ones that stop your fingernail if you run it across, use #000 guage steel wool -- nothing harder than this! Use this with ammonia, it will take those small hair scratches right off and makes your window VERY good looking. Note though, once you use a piece of wool, throw it away, do not reuse it. It will rust and rust WILL scratch your window. I will repeat myself again just so no one or I screw up and someone gets the wrong one, get #000 guage steel wool.
#0000 is not hard enough to do anything and is a pain to get rid of those scratches.
#00 and harder will make your window even worse, heh.
Do not use pot and pan scrubbers like some people say, that's more harsh than #000.

Toothpaste brings back memories, while in the Navy many years ago we used toothpaste to remove scratches in plexiglass gun turrets on aircraft.
